The Decision of the Personal Data Protection Board dated 11.03.2021 and numbered 2021/238 ("Decision") 16.03.2021 and numbered 31425 was published in the Official Gazette dated 16.03.2021 and numbered 31425. With this Decision, it has been stated that applications have been made to the Institution by many data controllers or their affiliated parent organizations, various sector representatives and some public institutions and professional institutions regarding the extension of registration periods to Data Controllers Registry System (Verbis) on the grounds that there are difficulties in properly fulfilling the registration obligation to the Verbis due to the Covid-19 virus outbreak that continues to have an effect in our country. As a result of the evaluation of such applications by the Board, the registration periods to Verbis have extended as follows:
A. To 31.12.2021 for real and legal person data controllers and real and legal person data controllers based abroad with an annual employee count of more than 50 or an annual financial balance sheet is more than TL 25 million,
B. The number of employees per year is less than 50 and its annual financial balance sheet is less than TL 25 million, and the main activity is for real and legal person data controllers whose main activity is privately qualified personal data processing until 31.12.2021,
C:To 31.12.2021 for public institutions and organizations and professional institution data controllers who are public institutions.
Accordingly, in accordance with the final decision issued by the Board, the deadline for real and legal persons to register in Verbis has been updated to 31.12.2021.
